Below I’ve made a simple explanation of how I see the Psyche - technically speaking the body isn’t a part of the Psyche but it’s one of the four major elements in Western Esotericism. When we have all four aspects working in harmony, life’s like living a dream - we’re empowered, healthy, conscious, and have a gentle mastery of self as well as a dynamic and healthy relationship with the Universe & world around us.
When we have a clear and conscious relationship with all the four elements of the Psyche; we get the Hexagram, or six-pointed star - associated with ‘Aether’ (ether) aka ‘quintessence’. The Hexagram is the metaphorical/metaphysical union of both the masculine & feminine principles within us. It’s the conscious awareness that we are the creators of our own realities. When we allow these elements of self to align, we create a bridge between the physical world and the unseen; an ability to dialogue with spirit / source consciousness (ether) in our own unique ways.
This is also known as the Hieros Gamos and the ritual and symbolic elements track as far back as Ancient Sumerian culture (probably further honestly but let’s not go there). In the next module you’ll see the Chinese symbol of the Yin Yang aka Taijitu and that’s more of the same. The idea is that when we bring self into balance, allowing both aspects / all elements to function healthily, we touch on/experience the divine nature of self and the Universe. This is also represented in many other cultures and myths throughout human history.
This image is the original document that helped me to understand the layers of the psyche (and other aspects of the layers of the universe). What really solidified this for me is not only seeing the mechanisms at play within my own psyche but also how these layers correlate so strongly with the suits of the Tarot, which has historically been used as an occult tool to subconsciously teach this to initiates.
One of the keys to understand this document is that you are never outside of spirit - physical reality is just another aspect of it, so where it says “Afterlife” realms, it’s in quotation marks because the “Afterlife” is happening simultaneously to your current life, just at a higher level of your consciousness. Same reason why your “past/future” lives are also happening simultaneously. Everything is here and now.
Digressing: mostly what’s relevant to this course is primarily the “lower 3rd density” section (what I’d refer to as the Psyche).
Further research can be done into this concept & the layers of reality by looking into Bashar / Darryl Anka’s channeling.
If none of this makes any sense to you, all you need to really take from this module is that your emotions come from your beliefs, your thoughts come from/through your emotional layer, and your actions in the world are really dictated by how in tune with these aspects of yourself you are (but also your ability to tune into your bodily signals which will give you clues to all of these in the first place).
The final aspect of all of this is really really putting into your awareness that even though we call the shadowy & dark aspects of ourselves “the Underworld”, and have historically conceptualised the “subconscious” and the “unconscious” as lower in consciousness/frequency than our conscious mind, it’s actually higher. The more you understand of your own emotions, belief systems, and personal themes; the higher in consciousness you are vibrating at. When you really delve into and transmute your negative beliefs, you’re genuinely more aware of your thought patterns, your choices & where they’re motivated from in terms of making decisions from a positive vs negative place. Don’t think you’re digging down when you’re exploring these aspects, understand that you’re opening up to higher awareness & more direct communication from your Higher Mind.
BONUS:
Your Higher Mind communicates to you through passion, excitement, curiosity, and love. Often when we’re experiencing the opposite/negative emotions it’s because our Higher Mind is attempting to get us to open our awareness to a negative belief in order to be able to examine it. It’s not about avoiding things that bring us fear, it’s about examining what we’re really even afraid of - for example, some of your greatest passions and joys are locked behind fear of being judged or embarrassed. Avoiding the fear would have us avoiding our passion & purpose at times. So be directed by your excitement (etc.) and confront your fears/negative belief systems as they arise.
