Intention setting is the cornerstone of any solid commitment, ritual, or action taken in the world. When we do this inner work, it is best to approach it from a place of love and self acceptance, instead of trying to ‘fix’ ourselves or annihilate aspects of self that we don’t like. Start this work strong by crafting an acknowledgement within yourself (& with your guides) as to why you’re doing it and what you want to get out of it.

Prompts for discerning your intention:

  • Why are you setting off on the journey within?

  • What kind of relationship with yourself would you like this work to establish?

  • If you catch yourself self loathing or self punishing, what would you like to do to turn it around & re-establish a loving connection with your self? (Seriously, write this one down so you can come back to it if/when you need to - write multiple ideas!)

  • What do you want your existence to feel like after you’ve done the bulk of this work?

You may like to do this as a form of official ritual in your own way (such as ritual spell work or creative visualisation), or just note it down in a journal - you do you, boo.

Additional safety rails:

  • List of safe people you can call in on if things get too raw (having a connected friendship/family group is an awesome idea for life in general).

  • Knowing your limits & when to back off and do some self care / grounding (regular grounding is a great tip regardless).

  • Take 48-72 hours of integration time if you have the brilliant idea to make a massive life shift during this work. (It probably is brilliant but.. just to be sure.)

  • Know that you can talk to your guides/universe and ask for respite when you need to - they’re there to help.
